Statements And Arguments Questions Consists Of A Statement Followed By Certain Arguments. Arguments are generally in favor of or against the statement. Arguments expresses different views and generally one argument is opposes by another.

Candidates are required to distinguish between different arguments and search out the right argument related to the required statement.Strong Arguments refer to those which are important and directly related to question.

Mainly There Are Two Types Of Questions Asked In Statements And Arguments :

Type 1 : Statement With Two Arguments : 

Statement : Should competitive examinations for selecting candidates for job consist through objective test only ?

Argument 1 : YES : The assessment of objective test is reliable.

Argument 2 : NO : The number of questions to be answered is always very large.

Option A : if only Argument I is strong.

Option B : if only Argument II is strong.

Option C : if either I or II is strong.

Option D : if neither I nor II is strong.

Option E : if both I and II is strong.



Type 2 : Statement With More Than Two Arguments :

Statement : Should there be a total ban on tobacco products and smoking in India ?

Argument 1 : YES : It is wrong to smoke away millions of money.

Argument 2 : NO : It will thousands of workers in tobacco industry out of employment.

Argument 3 : NO : The government will lose huge amount of money,as it will not earn by way of taxes on these products.

Option A : if only Argument I and II is strong.

Option B : if only Argument II is strong.

Option C : if either I or II is strong.

Option D : if neither I nor II is strong.

Option E : if both II and III is strong.
