What are acids?

Acids are derived from the Latin word " acere " which means sour. 

Thus, acids are substances that have a sour taste. 

Generally, Acids donate a hydrogen ion ( H+ ) to another substance.

It has a pH value of less than 7.0

It turns blue litmus red.

It is corrosive in nature.

It conducts electricity.

Example- H2SO4: Sulfuric Acid, HCL: Hydrochloric Acid
