How gandhi died?

Mahatma Gandhi, the leader of the Indian independence movement, was assassinated on January 30, 1948. He was shot and killed while he was walking to a platform from which he was to address a prayer meeting. The assassin, Nathuram Godse, was a Hindu nationalist who held Gandhi responsible for the partition of India and the creation of Pakistan. Godse fired three bullets at Gandhi from a pistol at point-blank range, and Gandhi died shortly after. His death was mourned by millions of people in India and around the world.
